Vampire procedures are nonsurgical treatment solutions that use platelet-rich plasma derived from the patient’s blood (PRP) to rejuvenate and heal tissue.

What is a Vampire Facial?

The Vampire Facial is a nonsurgical proprietary aesthetic procedure that helps our patients achieve a more youthful appearance and healthier refreshed skin without the potential side-effects of other aesthetic treatments. The Vampire Facial allows Dr. Farah Sultan and her Med-Spa staff to utilize the patient’s platelet rich plasma (derived via blood draw) to address common skin concerns.

During a Vampire Facial at Vitalogy Wellness & Med-Spa in Homewood, Alabama, patients can relax in one of our cozy state-of-the-art treatment rooms. One of our qualified staff members will begin by drawing a small amount of blood from your arm and placing it into a centrifuge, where it will be separated to isolate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP). While this is taking place, one of our estheticians will then microneedle the face which involves puncturing the skin with a handheld microneedling pen. These micro-holes remain open an average of 6 hours. During the treatment the platelet rich plasma which contains important growth-factors is then applied to the face (seeping into the microholes) triggering the body’s natural healing response. This process results in the generation of new, healthy skin cells as well as improved collagen and elastin fiber production.

Because the platelet rich plasma is derived from the patient’s own blood, the risk of adverse or allergic reaction is virtually zero. Following the treatment, patients should expect some redness and swelling, but usually no bruising. Though these symptoms are usually mild and resolve within a few days, Dr. Farah Sultan recommends avoiding prolonged sun exposure, wearing makeup, and extreme physical exercise for up to 48 hours hours following treatment. We also recommend not to use your regular skin care regimen for up to 72 hours. No Retinoids, no vitamin c, no lactic acid.  Only use a mild facial cleanser and mineral based SPF30 + starting after 12-24 hours post procedure.

When will I see the results of my Vampire Facial?

Vampire Facial results are visible almost immediately and improve over months to come. We recommend 3-6 treatments 4-6 weeks apart to address specific skin concerns such as sun damage, aging skin, and a variety of other skin conditions. Patients can also switch up between the Vampire Facial, a Microneedling Facial, and the Vampire Facelift for even better results.

What is a Vampire Facelift?

Similar to a Vampire Facial, the Vampire Facelift involves the patient’s platelet rich plasma to stimulate collagen and elastin fiber. The difference between the two treatments is that the Vampire Facelift also includes injections with platelet rich plasma (PRP) and HA fillers (we use Restylane Injectables) to produce even more dramatic and also immediate results.

PRP injections are ideal to treat the delicate under-eye area, and also  to restore lost volume anywhere in the face. PRP will also  helpt  to improve overall skin texture.  Dr. Farah Sultan uses Restylane fillers such as Restylane Lyft, Restylane Contour, and Restylane Defyne to minimize fine lines and wrinkles, and to restore lost volume. The full effects of the Vampire Facelift can be seen within 4-6 weeks after the treatment. Treatment downtime is minimal if any, however, patients can expect bruising, swelling, redness, and tightness for several days. Dr. Farah Sultan recommends avoiding prolonged sun exposure, wearing makeup, and extreme physical exercise for up to 48 hours hours following treatment. She also recommend not to use your regular skin care regimen for up to 72 hours. Should I get the Vampire Facial or the Vampire Facelift?

While both treatments produce stunning skin improvements, the Vampire Facelift is designed to address more age-related concerns. If the reason for the treatment is sagging skin, under-eye hollows, and lost facial volume in the face, the Vampire Facelift may be the treatment of choice. The Vampire Facelift is also more effective in treating deep acne scars, because the PRP injections further aid in diminishing scars. If you are not sure which treatment you should choose, ask Dr. Sultan what treatment plan is appropriate for your skin goals. The Vampire Facial is ideal for individuals that want to prevent premature aging while maintaining beautiful, youthful-looking skin.

How much is the cost for the Vampire Facial versus the Vampire Facelift?

The Vampire Facial starts at $1000 and goes up to $1200 depending on the PRP kit market price. The Vampire Facial includes the blood draw, PRP kit, and a Microneedling Facial with the topically applied PRP. The Vampire Facelift starts at $1700 and goes up to $3500 or more depending on how many syringes of HA filler are used in conjunction with the  PRP injections.
